I am pleased to announce that Owais Khalid will be joining the Cowan team as VP, Finance, effective September 27, 2021. As an integral part of the Senior Executive Team, Owais will focus on strategic planning, ensuring our company’s sound financial management and effective IT operations. Working closely with the President and other business leaders, Owais will play a critical role in setting the company’s future direction by leading the annual strategic planning process and continuously evaluating short- and long-term objectives. In addition, Owais will provide leadership oversight to our significant IT team and business.
Owais has a proven track record of delivering high-quality business results. He brings over 10 years of experience managing financial functions for various multicultural organizations in Canada, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. Most recently, Owais was the Director of Accounting and Finance at Technation Canada. Historically, he has positions of Chief Financial Officer for Skamco Group in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Management Accountant at Levant Group in London, England.
Owais holds an MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London (2018). He is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) UK (2009) and a Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario, Member (2019).
Outside of the office, Owais enjoys participating in sports, learning about new technology, reading, travelling and exploring new cultures.
